Jay Wilcox was born in Anchorage, Alaska, and has been writing his whole life. The earliest stories began in the little blank books his mother, a teacher, would fashion for him out of printer paper and staples. He received his MFA from the Bennington Writing Seminars. He currently lives in Baltimore, where he attended the University of Maryland, Baltimore County and teaches with the University of Maryland.
In the above photo, he demonstrates a highly powerful form of martial arts he invented.
